NEWS Sep 11, 2022 United Airlines Places Order for 200 eVTOL Air Taxis On Thursday, United Airlines announced its order of 200 Electric Vertical Take Off and Landing (eVTOL) air taxis with Eve. The Embraer-owned startup, Eve Air Mobility, has made a $15 million pre-purchase agreement with United for 200 aircraft, with an option of 200 more available. ROUTES Sep 10, 2022 LATAM Ecuador Resumes Service Between Quito and Miami After stopping service in January 2017, LATAM Ecuador has resumed its direct route between Quito and Miami with daily flights this winter. LATAM previously operated this route from May 2003 until January 2017. When it resumes, LATAM will be the second airline connecting the airport pairs, joining American Airlines. NEWS Sep 05, 2022 Hundreds of Flights Cancelled After Lufthansa Pilots Strike The Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) union stated that Lufthansa pilots would begin a 24-hour strike starting at midnight Thursday. The reason: the airline's 5,000-member union went on strike after being denied a requested 5.5% pay increase and automatic inflation bumps.
