NEWS Aug 13, 2023 MiG Russian Fighter Jet Crashes During Thunder Over Michigan Airshow A MiG Russian fighter jet crashed during the Thunder Over Michigan Air Show today at Willow Run Airport (YIP) in Ypsilanti, a city approximately 35 miles (56.3 kilometers) from Detroit. According to authorities, the aircraft crashed near an apartment complex on Belleville Lake. The pilots, who had ejected from the aircraft, were recovered from the water with minor injuries.
