NEWS Sep 14, 2022 Israel Will Ban Four Engine Planes in 2023 Beginning on March 31, 2023 Israel will ban the Boeing 747 and other four engine aircraft in a statement from the Israel Airports Authority (IAA) in hopes of reducing noise and air pollution. The IAA also says it has told airlines that they will not be able to operate large aircraft at Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport (TLV) for the summer season. A United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York approved financing for the airline of over 700 Million USD. The Debtor-in-Possession (DIP) agreement's terms are almost identical to the ones SAS announced on August 14, 2022, with the financing credit agreement managed by Apollo Global Management. The reason: the airline's 5,000-member union went on strike after being denied a requested 5.5% pay increase and automatic inflation bumps.
