This morning at around 9:20 am (local time) in the South of Portugal a Ryanair Boeing 737 MAX 8, was forced to make an emergency landing at Faro Airport in Portugal. INFORMATIONAL Nov 30, 2023 The Boeing 717: Boeing's Failed Aircraft In 1997, Boeing bought its long-time rival McDonnell Douglas for $13 Billion. After the acquisition, Boeing began to phase out its newly acquired McDonnell Douglas aircraft in favor of its own designs, which most industry leaders deemed more successful. However, McDonnell Douglas had its MD-95 in production, which was set to release just two years later in 1999. That morning, the flight, operated by a Boeing 737-800 as flight 5N583, was en route from Saint Petersburg to Perm, a busy domestic flight in Russia.
