Sixth Global Express Joins FAI Aviation Group Fleet

Sixth Global Express Joins FAI Aviation Group Fleet

FAI rent-a-jet has officially announced the expansion of its charter fleet with the addition of a Bombardier Global 6000 (MSN 9546). This acquisition marks a significant milestone for the Nuremberg-based operator, representing its sixth Global Express aircraft and bringing its total business jet fleet to 17.

Scheduled to enter service in mid-February 2026, the newly acquired aircraft is set to meet the mission-critical needs of FAI's global clientele.

MSN 9546

The Global 6000 is widely regarded as one of the most capable intercontinental business jets in the world, and MSN 9546 arrives at FAI with a particularly distinguished background. Originally configured for the Malta-based operator Vistajet, the aircraft was subsequently maintained by a single corporate owner.

For charter clients, the appeal of this specific airframe lies in its "near-new" status. Despite its tenure, the aircraft has exceptionally low flight hours and, crucially, has never been used for charter operations until now. This "pristine" history is a rare find in the secondary market and aligns with FAI’s commitment to providing a premium experience.

Cabin and Aesthetics:

  • Livery: The aircraft retains its signature Vistajet metallic-painted exterior, offering a sleek, modern silhouette on any ramp.
  • Interior: The cabin features a tasteful, high-end design characterized by handmade cabinetry and hand-stitched cream leather seating.
  • Configuration: The spacious, three-zone cabin is designed to accommodate up to 14 passengers, providing ample room for productivity or rest.
  • Galley: A large, fully equipped galley ensures that high-altitude dining experiences meet the expectations of corporate and VIP travelers.

With a non-stop range of 6,000 nautical miles, the Global 6000 can easily bridge major global financial centers — for example, London to Tokyo or New York to Dubai — without the need for refueling stops, making it the ideal tool for time-sensitive intercontinental travel.

A Strategic Acquisition

In an industry where aircraft transactions can often take months to finalize, FAI Aviation Group demonstrated remarkable agility. The entire acquisition of MSN 9546 was completed in just six weeks from the initial contract signing.

This rapid turnaround included a comprehensive Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) conducted at Bombardier Aerospace Services (BAS) in Singapore. Notably, the inspection took place over the busy Christmas and New Year period, highlighting the dedication of FAI’s team and its partners.

Siegfried Axtmann, FAI’s founder and chairman, emphasized that this deal reinforces the company’s reputation as a "fast-acting cash buyer." By maintaining high liquidity and a streamlined decision-making process, FAI is able to secure high-quality assets in a competitive global market.

Reclaiming the Legacy of D-AXTM

The addition of this aircraft also carries a sentimental and historical weight for the company. FAI has been an operator of Global Express aircraft since 2010. Its very first Global (MSN 9102) carried the registration D-AXTM.

Following the sale of that original aircraft in 2023, the registration was temporarily retired. Now, in a nod to the company’s history of growth in the long-range sector, the newly acquired Global 6000 will assume the D-AXTM registration, effectively bringing the "legacy" tail number back into the active fleet.

Strong Performance Metrics Drive Expansion

The decision to expand the Global Express fleet was driven by impressive performance data from the previous year. In 2025, FAI’s five-strong Bombardier BD-700 Global Express fleet recorded over 5,500 hours of airtime.

Even more impressive was the 85% occupancy rate achieved by these aircraft, indicating that FAI has successfully tapped into a consistent demand for ultra-long-range charter. Across the entire Group, the total fleet utilization exceeded 13,000 hours of flight time in 2025, contributing to a consolidated revenue of €140 million.

The Nuremberg Hub: A Foundation for Growth

FAI Aviation Group is not merely an operator; it is a full-service aviation powerhouse. Based at the Albrecht Dürer International Airport in Nuremberg, the company operates Germany’s largest fleet of Bombardier business jets, which currently includes:

  • 6 Bombardier Global Express jets
  • 5 Bombardier Challenger 604s
  • 6 Learjet 60/60XRs

The company’s headquarters features a 10,000 m² carbon-neutral fixed-base operation (FBO). Supporting this fleet is a dedicated Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) division, FAI Technik, which employs approximately 80 specialized technicians out of the Group’s total workforce of nearly 300.

Looking Ahead to February 2026

As FAI prepares the Global 6000 for its mid-February debut, the company remains focused on its "mission-critical" DNA. Whether performing high-stakes corporate missions or facilitating intercontinental connections for government and NGO clients, the addition of MSN 9546 ensures that FAI remains at the forefront of European business aviation.

With the return of the D-AXTM tail number, FAI Aviation Group is not only growing its fleet, but also pursuing a future of global expansion.
